As part of an effort to strengthen and restructure data managements systems at Integrate Health, we’ve teamed up with Alteryx for Good to improve how we use data to transform healthcare delivery.

In a previous article, we explained our goals for strengthening data management systems. Critical to meeting our objectives is ensuring that data translate easily and effectively into information that can be used to improve healthcare for patients. However, up until this year, this was difficult and time-consuming to accomplish; Integrate Health’s data analysts spent 80–90% of their time on data entry, aggregation, and cleaning tasks. This meant they weren’t able to spend as much time as they needed using the data to identify changes in healthcare outcomes and to work on finding solutions.

In October 2019, Integrate Health teamed up with Alteryx, and since then has eliminated over 100 hours of manual data preparation tasks each month.

In October 2019, Integrate Health teamed up with Alteryx, and since then has eliminated over 100 hours of manual data preparation tasks each month. Through the use of the Alteryx, we can now retrieve and share data with the Ministry of Health with a click of a button, organize and store the data in one convenient location, and present data through Tableau in a user-friendly way.

Ultimately, this translates to better outcomes for our patients. Integrate Health data analysts can spend more of their time analyzing data and problem solving with Community Health Workers, Supervisors, and Clinical Mentors about the healthcare trends in their communities. Equipped with that information, Community Health Workers, Supervisors, and Clinical Mentors can implement specific changes to improve the health of their patients.

In addition to improving healthcare delivery, Alteryx technology enables us to share data freely with the Ministry of Health, allowing us, and our government partners, to demonstrate the impact of the Integrated Primary Care Program. You can read more about our work on aligning our data systems with the government here.
