Like so many of you, our hearts are broken. We are devastated by the suffering and injustice around us. As mothers and fathers, daughters and sons, as human beings, we weep in the face of the pain being inflicted on others.
But we will not turn away. Rather we commit to bear witness, to stand in solidarity, and to continue to fight for justice. Integrate Health strongly condemns racism, white supremacy, and neocolonialism. We will not tolerate injustice in any form against Black people.
As an organization, Integrate Health commits to advance an anti-racism agenda. We believe deeply that when one group is treated unfairly, we all suffer. Injustice harms our collective humanity. Racism is a public health issue. Not only because of the inequities faced within the healthcare system, but also those faced outside the health system, in everyday life.
Integrate Health was founded to advance equity and we commit to continuing the work to fight injustice in all its forms. This includes acknowledging the power imbalances that exist in our own organization and in the communities we serve and doing the hard work required to address and overturn those imbalances.
In this pivotal moment, Integrate Health stands in solidarity with community members, activists, grassroots organizations, friends, and family who are fighting for justice. We all must take part in the collective work needed to dismantle the unjust and oppressive systems that treat far too many without the respect and dignity they deserve.
We accept the responsibility to engage in solutions that will advance true justice. We hope you will join us in making this commitment. We encourage you to learn more and support organizations directly responding to the current crisis, including Black Lives Matter, Black Visions Collective and Campaign Zero.
In Solidarity,
The Integrate Health Team
