Integrate Health’s Deputy Country-Director, Anita KOUVAHEY-EKLU, shares her thoughts after earning the Heroines of Health Award but being enable to attend the gala ceremony in Berlin, Germany. The Award, which is organised by Women in Global Health, distinguished 17 outstanding women for their contributions to global health. The objective is to recognise the traditionally unrecognised and unlock transformational change for more gender equity in health. While she applauds the initiative to bring the spotlight on women’s achievements, she also reminds us that global inequities hinder participation to global convenings when they are not held in areas where all are welcomed.
