Anika was born in Pangouda 33 years ago. He grew up and spent his childhood there. He attended the local public primary school. After obtaining his primary school certificate degree, he left for the town of Kanté for secondary school in 2009. Lacking financial means, he dropped out in the fourth grade. In 2012, he returned to the village and began farming for a living. He then headed back to Kanté to learn carpentry. Again, lacking the means, he gave up and returned to the village. He took up masonry before returning to work in the fields when, in 2021, he joined the NGO Integrate Health. Initially, he supported the Coordination of the Program team in community mobilization in Pangouda. In June 2021, he returned to the Coordination team as a replacement CHW. When a regular CHW goes on leave, he fills in. But before that, Integrate Health took care of training him in Kara. Anika had heard of the CHW profession. He wanted to do this job, and the fact that Integrate Health selected him was a boon for him. He was granted tenure in September 2023.
