Assoura Tonougbabou

Jun 7, 2019

Assoura grew up in Manga and worked as a volunteer educator before joining the IH team as a Community Health Worker in 2018. The work is important for her because she is able to educate households on illness prevention so that they can avoid acquiring preventable diseases on their own terms. Seeing women take initiative by seeking prenatal care and insisting on facility-based deliveries is a big step to achieving gender equity within her community, and she is grateful to take part in that progress.
