Kassan has lived her whole life in the Kozah district and joined the IH Community Health Worker team in 2015. She was inspired to become a Community Health Worker as her children got older and she had the time to care for other people’s children. She is happy to be working as an IH Community Health Worker and gets to take the children in her community under her care, working with parents and the community to keep children healthy and smiling, preventing the sicknesses and deaths that existed before the program started in Djamdé. Kassan has noticed a decrease in poverty in her community as families are healthier. She looks forward to her new skills in counseling and providing family planning to help families in Djamdé become healthier and stronger.
