Finding gainful employement living in a rural community in Togo is difficult, but as a woman, the stakes are much higher. As a Community Health Worker, Mami is able to use her training in her community to achieve better health and promote progress through advocacy and community-based preventative healthcare practices. By encouraging families to adopt family planning methods, she believes that everyone in the community will benefit by giving them control of their health.
