Mankourassi Tchatnangbo

Apr 9, 2024

Like many rural inhabitants, Mankourassi comes from a poor farming family. Between a child’s school education and training in farming practices, many parents in Pangouda (Kéran district) don’t hesitate to prioritize their offspring’s mastery of their trade. In 2017, she dropped out of school to work in the fields for her father. That same year, she married and gave birth. In August 2020, an Integrate Health meeting was held in her locality to select women to become Community Health Workers (CHWs). There Mankourassi first learned about the CHW profession. Motivated by the relief that CHWs could bring to their communities, she applied. She was selected and now works as a CHW, to the great benefit of her community.
