A shy smile. A mischievous look. A simple language. Nikabou Mawaté, in her fifties, was born in Bassar (Kara region). Lacking financial means, she dropped out of school at an early age. So, before she came of age, she left for Lomé, where she strove to achieve her financial independence. In the Togolese capital, the young girl worked as a domestic helper to keep up with the schedule she had set herself. Since 1990, Mawaté has been working as a cleaner. Her highly appreciated service record led her to AED-Lidaw in 2012. In 2013, she was recruited by Integrate Health to carry out routine maintenance on the Kara premises.
