Tchelabalo Songaitrema

Apr 18, 2018

Tchelabalo was born and raised in Djamdé, where he works as a motorcycle taxi driver when he is not serving as a tricycle ambulance driver for IH’s rural health transport. Tchelabalo has longstanding ties with the community and health center he serves as ambulance driver, as he was one of the trusted motorcycle drivers often called upon to transport patients to a referral hospital before the start of the ambulance program. He was called upon to serve as an ambulance driver by his community because of his personality and reputation in Djamdé for his empathy and respect for others. Tchelabalo looks forward to working with clinic staff and community health workers to further improve the system of care provided to mothers and children by supporting the referral system.
