Tchilalo Ruth Tchiou

Ruth has lived her whole life in Kpindi and left her job as a seamstress to become a Community Health Worker and help the community that has always supported her. Prior to the Kpindi Community Health Worker program, Ruth noticed women rarely came to prenatal consultations, and families did not have the financial resources to pay for maternal and pediatric health services. Now Ruth is proud that women start prenatal consultations within their first trimester and that families take the initiative to take their ill children to the Kpindi clinic. Ruth is happy that everyone is positively affected by her and the other Community Health Workers’ work within their community, and she looks forward to many more years of a successful partnership between Kpindi and IH.
