A doctor of public health, Dr. Tiguida Sissoko worked for Save the Children for 8 years, mainly on maternal, neonatal, and child health projects. She started as a supervisor of community health workers, then became a monitoring and evaluation officer, then a coordinator of essential care in the community and finally an implementation director.
She also worked at Marie Stopes International (MSI) in Mali for 5 years and in Burkina Faso for 3 years. She started as Deputy Director of Programs, then Director of Programs, and then Deputy Country Director. She subsequently held the position of Country Director of Marie Stopes International in Burkina Faso and then in Mali.
