We recognize that racism, sexism, neo-colonialism, and other forms of oppression exist. We live and work in the context of deep power imbalances and far too often our efforts to “solve” social problems reinforce those power dynamics. At Integrate Health we have committed to name, unpack, and interrupt the ways that dominance shows up in our work, in our organization and in ourselves, in Togo and in the United States. This process of transformation is ongoing and does not have a finish line. Each day we are required to show up and put in the work.
One concrete step we have taken and would like to share is our Culture Code. Integrate Health’s Culture Code is one way through which we aim to live our values as we work to dismantle systems of oppression. Our Culture Code is a commitment and by making this commitment public we are expressing our desire to be held accountable. This is hard work, but we will not let up. We are continuing to learn and grow as we undertake the personal, professional, and organizational transformation required to dismantle oppression within our sector, within our organization and within ourselves.
We invite you to read our Culture Code in English or in French.
